IDA - Individual Development Account
Individual Development Accounts, or IDA’s are matched savings accounts that change the financial futures of qualifying Oregonians with lower incomes or limited financial resources. With the partnership of CASA of Oregon as an intermediary organization, MERIT can provide direct service management to savers, financial education, asset training and coaching. Participants of the IDA open a savings account in a financial institution with the purpose of saving and building business assets. Savings dollars are matched 3 to 1 through a grant from the Oregon IDA Initiative.
Clients participating in the program improve their financial well-being, build a foundation for continued economic growth and receive on-going support and training in small business development enabling them to succeed as small business owners.

Vision Accounting Services
The Vision program started as a pilot program in 2017 with the intention to assist business owners with affordable financial services that include bookkeeping and Quickbooks training. It was started with college interns that were working towards a business degree and trained in QuickBooks by a staff member proficient in bookkeeping and QuickBooks. Local accounting firms were also included to guide the interns to ensure that the skills learned are up to industry standards.
The Vision program has also taken a great complement with the IDA program, given that there are certain criteria business owners have to achieve, one of which, is business financials. These include cash flow projection, profit and loss statement development, as well as balance sheets and more.
MERIT's Vision program has helped dozens of business owners all across the Salem area as well as rural communities within Marion county.
